I took Captain America, my experimental Stumpjump HT EVO-R, to California for two weeks of riding and teaching. The early reviews are in.
My two-week California building/teaching trip was awesome, but I’m strangely happy to be back on the trainer. I think they call it Stockholm syndrome.
Next time you’re on the trainer, try this action:
Student/ripper Christopher Kelly sent these photos from clinics he attended last week in Marin. Thanks dude.
I enjoyed the honor of a quick session at Fox Racing Shox’ company pump track last month in NorCal.
This fun track fits a whole lot of love — and line options — into a small space. Sorry, this track is not open to the public.
I rode an Ibis Mojo HD in NorCal for maybe 20 minutes. Real quick:
Just got home from two weeks on the road. A bit of riding, lots of teaching, tons of Awesome.
I’m still catching up, but I have cool stuff to post.
On the way back: Temps hit -35°F in Wyoming. I had no idea diesel freezes!
Learning experience: If it’s that cold, and your Sprinter is running, don’t turn it off.

I’m in the Cabella’s parking lot in Reno (gotta check out the aquarium with the largemouth bass — so rad), taking care of work and saying “Whew!”
It’s been a heck of a two weeks:
We built the track Friday and part of Saturday. By Sunday it was all about teaching and riding.
Sweet video by Stephen Messer.
There’s a ton more photos and videos from the day; this sums it up beautifully.
After yesterday’s work, all we had to do today was shape. And ride. Did I say ride?
Today we placed the dirt and began shaping. Tomorrow, SoCal High School Cycling League riders and coaches will help us finish shaping. And, yeah, we shall ride.
