Maverick ML 7.5 sizing
I hope you can give me an answer to the question what size I should have for a Maverick ml 7.5. I am a man 180 centimeters (5′ 11″) tall 48 years and a inside leg height of 85 centimeters (33″). What will be the best ride, a size medium or large?
Many regards

I just called Dave at Maverick, and he says you need a large.
There. Easy.

I wouldn’t say it’s quite that easy. I’m 5’11” and I’ve owned 3 Mavericks… 1 large ML7, 1 medium ML7, and 1 medium ML8. A lot of it depends on how you like your bikes to fit and how you ride. When I switched from a large ML7 to a medium, I found the medium to be much easier to throw around and handle in the technical stuff. The shorter top tub isn’t quite as ideal for a stretched out climbing position, but I was able to adapt my position and climbing style a bit to compensate. I currently ride a medium ML8 with the shortest stem that they offer and can climb just as well as I could on my large, but when it comes time to drop the seat and rip down hill, the smaller bike feels much more nimble. I would reccomend taking your riding style into consideration and ride both sizes if you have the chance. If you like a more traditional cross country position, than you will probably be happier on the large. However, if you like the feel of smaller bikes and ride more technical and agressive terrain, you might be able to get by with medium.
Yes, Alex knows the score. At that body height a traditional XCer will prefer a large, and new-school ripper will prefer a medium. I’m 5’9″ and I liked a medium ML-8 with the shortest possible stem (70mm).
Who said this would be easy? …
