Ripping some raw corners

Last night Nick Simcik and I did a little ride/shoot on my new little trail. The conditions were steep, loose and very raw. We got a few shots for MMBSii, and we both learned something about the fine art of bike cornering.

Nick with some nice, clean off-camber form. Looking ahead, leaning the bike, turning the hips and setting an edge.

Oops! But still cool, because he rode it out.

This is a very tight turn, and Nick gives it the appropriate English.

Ripping the rut, full moto style. Braaap!

With The Wife on bed rest until the Twins arrive — we’re trying to make it three more weeks — I’m all about the local adventure.

Yeah buddy: Braaaping within baby monitor range.

Dang! That guy is ripping, going so fast he pixilates that last image! You guys should hang out, ride, and shoot more often. If you need me to, I can put you in touch with him 😉 Only two weeks! Best wishes with the kiddos!

Yeah, that guy is a total bad ass.

I need him to crash on purpose and show a perfect roll-out (cactus is optional). Do you think he’s man enough for that one?

And: Do you think he knows a place nearby where he can boost a jump into a turn?

  3. Simcik says:

He is totally into crashing (for demonstration purposes) sans cactus and loves jumping into turns, with or without a berm involved…yes, jumping into off camber turns is the new thing these days
