Brrrrrr … I mean GRRRRRR!
BRRRRRRRRR!
Tons of work, crazy life issues and multiple blizzards mean I’ve been shoveling, lifting, running and riding the trainer, but — DUDE — I need to get out and rip. Oh man. The Enduro SL is hanging there, and two Hondas are sitting there, and we just got another foot of snow here in Boulder.
Hmm … huge copy deadline on Wednesday, but it’s 40° and sunny in Fruita … four-hour drive each way … ride MTB one day then write … ride moto the next day then drive home … do the math … no way.
GRRRRRRRRR!
Not only does the math say it wouldn’t work, the weather says it wouldn’t work. I’ve heard from a friend it took 8 hours from Frisco to Golden. Hang in there, Lee.
Hey Lee, though the weather may be around 40, it’s still dank and nasty on most of our trails here in Fruita. Our shop is closing up on Jan. 1 (until Jan. 15) and we are heading to Arizona for guaranteed warmer weather and 2 weeks of gnar-gnar. You are welcome to come along! But if you do get out here, some of the trails over in the Kokopelli area are drying out and should be keen if we don’t get anymore moisture in the next few days. You gotta get out here sometime so I can show you the fresh and tasties. Love the site, keep it tight, aight?
What do you do for a living Lee? Have I read any of your work? What mags?
Noah, thanks for the update.
I have deadlines through January, but I hope to take a big tour in Feb. Depending on what happens with jobs, selling the house, etc.
Have fun in Arizona. South Mountain!
KonaMan,
Chances are you’ve read my work (outside this site, that is).
In the past year or so I’ve written for Mountain Biking, Dirt Rag, Velonews, Trail Rider (moto) and Bicycling magazines. And there’s that book too; 20,000 copies in four languages.
I also do a lot of copywriting for companies. I do PR for Yeti and FOX, and I’ve written for Trek, Gary Fisher, Rock Shox, Giro, She Beest, Sidi, Smith, Saris, Park Tool, CycleOps, Topeak, CamelBack, CatEye, Gamut USA, SRAM, Easton, LeMond, Thule, Timbuk2, Kryptonite, BMW motorcycles, Triumph motorcycles and lots of others. I wrote the 2007 BMW moto catalog, and it’s rad.
Most of these gigs come through two marketing companies: http://www.mayfire.com (moto) and http://www.catacom.com (bike)
Also, I’m designing an online application for the “commercial mortgage-backed securities” industry. In a couple months it’ll be here: http://www.cmbs.com Yeah, I know, chicks dig CMBS!
Oh, and coaching.
You shoulda come out to Bootleg with us!!! It was a blast just what was needed in the middle of all this snow. Perfect weather but a tad windy, and those tips you gave really helped me corner in some of the loose bootleg turns.
Right on Jose!
That place is rad — but loose. Low shoulders, lean the bike … well done!
