These policies apply to in-person and remote skills instruction, as well as other forms of bike setup and advice.

Time: The clock starts at the appointed time. Be ready to ride.

Equipment: Your bike should be well adjusted and in good working order. If we believe your bike is not safe, we will spend clinic time making it safe. If you live near Boulder, CO, get your bike dialed at The Fix Bike Shop which is right next to Valmont Bike Park.

Weather: Bad weather does not cancel sessions. If the trails are open and the conditions permit any kind of riding, we will ride. If it’s raining, bring a jacket. If it’s muddy, we’ll find another surface to ride on. If the lift closes because of lightning, we will push our bikes or practice in the parking lot. If we do cancel because of weather, it will be at our discretion, and we will notify you as early as possible. In the case of cancellation for bad weather, you can either get a refund or apply your payment to another available session.

Cancellation: If you notify us of cancelation at least 72 hours before your class, we will reschedule or issue a refund. If you notify us later than 72 hours before your class, we will work with you to reschedule your session or apply your credit to another class or service.

Venue: If needed, we will change the venue in order to preserve trail conditions, provide the best possible learning experience and secure proper permissions. We’ll let you know in plenty of time, and we’ll stay as close as we can.

Instructor: If needed, we will change the instructor. Don’t worry: All of our teachers are excellent.

Liability: Bike riding has inherent risks, and you must accept those risks. You will sign a waiver before you ride.

If you are a mountain bike skills coach or instructor, and you work on your own or with another party, please do not sign up for an LLB clinic without letting us know. The only exception is coaches who work within the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). See below:

These policies are false! If it’s cold, class will be cancelled. If it has rained or might rain, class will be cancelled. I’ve signed up for 2 classes and both have been cancelled due to weather. Neither time was the weather extreme. Furthermore nobody will ever reach out to you or answer you again! LLB takes your money and runs!

    SB,

    I’m sorry you’re frustrated.

If Valmont Bike Park closes, we have to cancel class, and we notify students as soon as we can. We’ve had some crazy weather recently. For your second cancellation, a storm hit hard right before class, and we had to cancel last minute. We messaged all of the students as soon as we could.

Rain or cold won’t stop us, but a closed bike park will.

I hope you can attend another class.

    Lee
