Hey all, I’ll be in Norcal next week working on a software project. I’ll try to keep leelikesbikes updated, but I’m not sure how much time I’ll have. Gotta pay for that group health insurance!
I do the user interface, flow, copywriting, etc. for this bad @$$ piece of enterprise loan origination software:

The snow is gone, and the racetracks need love from rakes, brooms and shovels. Come on out this Saturday.

I’m out of town riding my bike and spending time with The Wife. Double hurray!
Stay tuned for a full report. In the mean time, I’ll be posting gems from the archive.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA, Tues. Feb. 26, 2008:
Over the fall and winter months the number one inquiry Brian Lopes has been receiving from fans, industry mags and mountain bike enthusiasts alike has been; “What bike will you be riding for 2008?”

This was originally posted March 14, 2004 — my first winter in Colorado. You’ll see Rufus rocking strong with all four legs.
Backcountry skiing seems pure, like a cross country mountain bike ride: Just haul yourself up a mountain, have a snack then carve down perfect, untracked powder. You have no lift lines and only the bozos you bring with you.

I’ve gotten a peak at the newest Earthed movie, and it’s pretty cool. Come to Wahoo’s Fish taco in Denver to watch great riding and contribute to Tara Llanes’ Road to Recovery.

Last week, that is. I spent quality time with some BMX luminaries in SoCal, and I now have 20,000 words of notes for my book. These quotes pop out:

It’s so very strange to travel without a bike, but I’ve been keeping busy. You see, I’ve started creating the definitive BMX how-to book (with accompanying video). This work will do for BMX what Mastering Mountain Bike Skills did for MTB — only better, because I’ve learned a lot over the past few years. Game on.

It’s weird to travel without a bike. With a ton of work to do, there’s no time for the usual take-a-month-in-the-Sprinter adventure. I’m flying to O.C. for almost a week, staying with my parents and interviewing some BMX pros for a big project. The weather report isn’t promising, but I choose to hope for the best.
Knowing Lopes, he’ll loan me a bike because he needs to get waxed. … Oh yeah, it’s on!
This morning I meant to spin up Sugarloaf Road and rip down the Boulder Link Trail a couple times. Lingering snow and a forgotten helmet changed that plan.

Hi all, I’m starting another book, and I’m doing a little market research. If you don’t mind helping, could you please post comments regarding these questions?

Yesterday was a grand day to like bikes. We had sculpted jumps, perfect weather and a fun, supportive crew.

I’m on the lookout for a sweet old BMX cruiser. The Yellow Designs stunt team will be throwing down. Good times …

I’m taking off for this weekend’s camp at Darner’s ranch. I’m stoked to teach some skills, ride my bike and enjoy some Colorado fall. Stay tuned for a report.
Mountain bike access on the revered Continental Divide Trail (CDT) is still threatened and IMBA needs you to take action BY FRIDAY OCT. 12. The CDT is a unique 3,100-mile route largely open to bikes and includes epic segments like the Monarch Crest Trail.

leelikesbikes.com began in September 2003 with just a boy and a dream. OK, a boy, some bikes, a computer and a dream. Four years later, 40,000 of you are visiting this site each month, and it’s time to step it up!
The fine folks at Mayfire rocked this action. It just went live, and we’re debugging right now.
Sweet!
All you Boulder-area riders, PLEASE go to the City of Boulder’s website to support cycling options (cross, bmx, trails, and DJs) at the new Valmont park development. This is a great opportunity — let’s rock it!

Hi all. My wife and I are coming to Kansas City this weekend, and I want to ride!
Does anyone have a pump track, know a trail or want a clinic?
Looks like I’ll be able to ride Friday and Saturday. Post a comment or email me: lee@leelikesbikes.com

Hi all. The 4X and DS tracks are a bit weedy and weather worn, but a little work will fix that. Let’s head out to Darner’s ranch in Nathrop Sept. 29-30 for some build/ride action.
For more info contact either Keith Darner or Lee McCormack.
