Hey Lee!!
Love the site, love the book. I was wondering if you have had any lower back issues during the course of your cycling experience. Yesterday I was braaaping and today I feel a lot of stiffness and soreness in my lower back. I never had any serious injuries to constitute any sniveling. I’m 37, slightly overweight.I ride a hard-tail similar to the P-series bikes. Usually I find that some heat therapy or even a chiropractor is good when it requires it. My question is this, could it be my technique or should I consider specific back exercises to reduce pain after braaaping? Thanks Lee. See ya’ at Sea Otter!!

I’ve been following James Wilson’s MTB Strength Training Program for a couple months, and here’s my status report. To sum it up: I hate James while I’m doing the workout, but I love him while I’m ripping on my bike.

Hi Lee,
I am VERY interested in getting James Wilson’s program. I’m not necessarily going to be racing again, but I need something to focus on so as to stay in shape (and being able to rip on trails is nice too). I thought I read some of his info on his site and he talked about lifting using real weights and doesn’t care for machines.
I prefer real weights as well, but I bought a Bowflex for its convenience (space and price). I live in a rural area and with kids and a two hour daily commute, so getting to a real gym is not really an option (excuses I know, but it is the reality of the matter). I guess what my question is, will I still be able to do his exercies with a Bowflex? Thanks for your time and how is the job search…I don’t remember reading anything. And, did you sell the house?

I just met with trainer James Wilson, and he opened my eyes to a new way of training, especially for gravity events. I’ll keep you posted as my training progresses, but here’s a quick rundown — and a special discount on his program.
