BRING IT: LYONS OUTDOOR GAMES THIS WEEKEND

Saturday Saturday Saturday! The new Lyons Bike Park will host a Short Track, Pump Track Worlds then a Dirt Jump Comp.

Come on out to ride, compete and/or watch.

Short Track
When: 2 p.m.

What: Short track madness with a pro purse.

Pump Track Worlds
When: Afternoon around 3, hopefully after the short track ‘cause I want the XC folks to throw down.

What: 2-lap time trial with a rolling start. Skill, gender and/or age classes. I’m thinking we should take the top qualifiers then race them in pursuit brackets for the $$$. Two riders start on opposite ends; if you get caught you’re out. That should be fun to behold (and brutal to do).

Dirt Jump Comp
When: 4:30 p.m.

What: Regional DJers will throw down on two very big, very sweet jumps. 20 or MTB. Pro purse. This will be a spectacle.

And: All-day riding sesh. Come on out!

As I understand, we will be using the Figure-Infinity configuration for pump track qualifiers. That’s approximately how many fast lines there are.

Smack talk: I’m going to be there, so everyone had better bring it! I predict that the finals will be characterized by much suffering.

Lee, i have to work while my boss helps out with the short track, and i definitely, definitely want in on the pump track, could we move the time back like 30 minutes?

    Lee,

The dog chase is the way to go on the pump track FOR SURE, that is the way we play it in the backyard.

Sam: I’ll try to move it back a bit. Gotta get the short-trackers in there too!

I’ll say this: Some of you jokers might beat me, but it won’t be because I let you. I am bringing the piggy bank, and I’m spending it all!
