Manuals: How to get it up
The key to manualing is shifting your weight far enough back to balance over your rear axle. This graphic will run with a story I wrote and illustrated for the February issue of Mountain Biking Magazine. The print version covers the entire progression from two-wheeled rolling to one-wheeled styling. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Essential tip: Manualing is NOT about pulling on your bars; it's about shifting your weight back. If your biceps burn and your front wheel stays down, stop that useless yanking and focus on these form tips.
